Synastry and Destiny Matrix compatibility are different symbolic systems. They use different inputs, construct different diagrams, and should not be translated into one another as if they measured the same variable.

Astrological synastry compares two natal charts, typically using planetary positions, angular relationships called aspects, signs, and houses. Accurate birth time and location can materially change angles and house placements. Destiny Matrix compatibility uses two birth dates, reduces each to a five-point 1-22 matrix, then combines matching positions into a composite.
Both are interpretive traditions rather than scientifically validated predictors of relationship success. Their diagrams may look equally technical, but visual complexity is not evidence that either system measures compatibility.
A Destiny Matrix can be reproduced from day, month, and year. Name and relationship type do not change the arithmetic on Destinyly. This makes the result comparatively easy to verify and less sensitive to missing birth records.
Synastry normally becomes more specific with exact birth time and place because those inputs affect the ascendant, houses, and some fast-moving positions. When birth time is unknown, an astrologer may omit time-sensitive factors or use a chart with explicit uncertainty. Substituting noon does not make the missing time known.
Synastry overlays or compares two natal charts and reads angular relationships between placements. A Destiny Matrix composite does not overlay two wheels. It adds matching A-E positions, reduces them to 1-22, and derives shared channels such as Love, Money, Karmic, Communication, and Relationship Purpose.
Because the construction differs, a synastry aspect has no direct numerical conversion to an Arcana. Venus cannot be translated into a Love Channel number, and a composite Center cannot be converted into a planetary house.
Synastry is often used to organize symbolic questions about how two natal patterns interact: communication style, attraction, emotional rhythm, conflict, or long-term structure. Destiny Matrix compatibility organizes similar life areas through a smaller set of composite positions and is easier to calculate by hand.
Choose the framework whose method you can understand and whose language helps you ask a clearer question. Using two systems can provide different metaphors, but agreement between them is not independent confirmation; both interpretations may be broad enough to fit the same story.
Some tools assign points to aspects, add numerology values, and present a single percentage. Unless the weighting system has been validated against real outcomes, that number is an editorial invention. It hides judgment inside arithmetic and suggests a level of certainty that neither symbolic framework provides.
Destinyly does not merge synastry with its composite matrix and does not generate a relationship success score. It keeps the published birth-date method checkable and interprets each channel separately.
Destiny Matrix differences usually come from date order, reduction rules, position labels, or secondary formulas. These can be audited. Synastry differences can also arise from birth-time accuracy, house system, zodiac framework, aspect orbs, and software settings.
Before comparing interpretations, compare settings. A disagreement caused by different inputs is not a deep spiritual contradiction. It is a method difference that should be disclosed.
Treat a chart statement as a hypothesis: 'We may avoid direct decisions when closeness is at stake.' Then ask whether both people recognize the pattern, what evidence supports it, and what would improve it. Do not use a chart to tell another person what they secretly feel.
Consent, safety, honesty, reliability, and repair are not symbolic placements. They are observable relationship conditions. If those conditions are missing, a favorable chart does not replace them.
Which system is more accurate? Neither has established scientific validity for predicting compatibility. Accuracy claims should be limited to whether the calculator follows its disclosed method.
Can I use both? Yes, as separate reflective languages. Keep the inputs, assumptions, and conclusions distinct.
Which is easier to calculate? The Destiny Matrix requires only birth dates and a small set of reduction formulas. Synastry normally requires astronomical chart calculation and benefits from accurate time and place.
