A relationship can be meaningful without lasting forever, and long duration does not prove alignment. Purpose describes a developmental theme rather than a promised outcome.
Read the Arcana's light expression as a quality the relationship can practice together. Look for situations where the partnership already supports it.
The shadow names what can happen when the shared theme becomes reactive or unequal. Responsibility belongs to people and behavior, not to the chart.
The composite purpose may feel easier for one person than the other. Comparing both personal centers can reveal different entry points into the same shared work.

It does not average personalities or measure the probability that a relationship will last.

A purpose reading for Energy 7 may examine direction, coordination, autonomy, and the ability to move together without one person taking over the route. Its pressure pattern can include competition, urgency, or parallel lives. The calculation cannot reveal whether either person is trustworthy; that requires evidence.
The numeric composite stays the same when users switch between romantic, friendship, family, parent-child, and work contexts. The interpretation should not. Direction in romance may concern pacing and shared plans; in work it may concern ownership and decision rights; in a parent-child relationship it must account for age, care, and unequal responsibility.
